It is a pleasure to send my best wishes to those attending the Multicultural Eid Festival – a wonderful celebration of religious commitment, cultural diversity and community harmony at the Fairfield Showgrounds in Sydney’s heartland.
A growing number of people in New South Wales are familiar with this joyful festival which follows the month-long physical and spiritual requirements of Ramadan practised by our Muslim communities.
Successful completion of the obligations of this period to fast, to abstain and to do charitable deeds is definitely worthy of celebration and a little fun.
This festival provides the ideal opportunity – particularly as it brings people of many different backgrounds together in a spirit of unity and acceptance.
Indeed, it is a wonderful opportunity for Australian Muslims to share their traditions with fellow Australians of other faiths and from other cultures
I wish you all Eid Mubarak!
