Free Ramadan Calendar 2018
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which lasts 29 to 30 days. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating and drinking during daylight hours and is intended to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, humility and submissiveness to God.
The holiday of Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of the fasting period of Ramadan and the first day of the following month.
The Ramadan Calendar gives you the dates for fasting and the timings for starting and breaking your fast. It also gives the prayer timings during the month of Ramadan.
Islamic dates are subject to the visibility of the new moon and variation can take place if this sighting of the crescent is done globally, regionally or locally. The following possible scenarios can occur this year:
- Global Sighting (or prediction of sighting)
Ramadan (30 days) starting Wednesday 16 May and ending Thursday 14 June with Eid on Friday 15 June.
- Regional Sighting
Ramadan (29 days) starting Thursday 17 May and ending Thursday 14 June with Eid on Friday 15 June.
- Local Sighting
Ramadan (30 days) starting Thursday 17 May and ending Friday 15 June with Eid on Saturday 16 June.
When you are notified of the commencement of Ramadan through your community, indicate the dates you will follow under the relevant “Ramadan” column.
Please stay in contact with your local mosque for announcement of Ramadan and Eid dates.
